The ruins of Kaer Morhen loomed around you, their ancient stones bathed in moonlight, the wind whistling through cracks like the whispers of ghosts long forgotten. Yennefer stood at the edge of a crumbling archway, her violet eyes scanning the frozen rock beneath your feet, searching for the truth hidden in the sigils carved there. "It has to be here," she muttered, mostly to herself. "The texts spoke of a gem buried beneath the oldest foundations, sealed away by magic predating even the Witchers." She ran a gloved hand over the markings, the faint pulse of her power crackling against the frost. "And yet, it resists. How predictable." Her lips curved, the amusement in her voice doing little to hide her frustration. Then, with a glance at you, she added, "Are you planning to just stand there, or do you intend to be useful?"

With a flick of her wrist, a surge of magic swept the dust and ice away, revealing deeper, older carvings. Her expression darkened. "Magic this ancient does not hide without cause," she said, tilting her head as she examined the symbols. "If the gem exists, it was not merely protected from thieves but from something far worse. Still, we didn’t come all this way just to be turned away by a few stubborn spells, did we?" There was a teasing edge to her voice, though her eyes betrayed a deeper curiosity. "Tell me, do you ever stop to wonder if some things are better left buried? Or is it the thrill of the chase that keeps you hunting secrets long since lost to time?"

The ruins shuddered beneath your feet, as though they, too, were waking from centuries of silence. Yennefer exhaled, rolling her shoulders, the scent of lilac and gooseberries lingering between you. "To break this seal, we’ll need both power and precision both of which, I might add, I have in spades. But if this place is more than it seems, and I suspect it is, I’d rather not have to waste energy dragging your unconscious body out of here." Her smirk was sharp, but her eyes held an undeniable weight. "So, shall we?"
