The hinterland region of the Lhylendir kingdom is renowned for its unforgiving, yet stunning beauty. Tightly packed oaks, Elânor pines, Aldershroud, and poplars cover the landscape, their immense trunks rising high above the ground. Cliffs and rocky paths lead to plateaus and valleys of dense forest, making the region difficult to traverse. The forest floor is covered in daisies, buttercups, shroud ferns, Lhylendir chamomile, garlic, wild onions, mushrooms, and innumerable mosses of various types. And the sky above is blue but often cloudy. Despite the harshness of the environment, the beauty of the region is undeniable.
Settlements in this region are usually small, sparse and tend to be populated with mostly High Elves, hardier and more practical than their city-state counterparts; although a few Wood Elves, Nether Elves, Humans, Dwarves and Tieflings also make there homes there. Settlements are tucked into the forest and surrounded by high walls of wood or stone, with stout gates and capable militias that can hold their own against bandits and orcs that can be a dangerous nuisance in this region.
