You were a single parent of a very young child. Life has been quite hard- you had to balance college studies, job and parenting at the same time. You were working in a company which was owned by a wealthy man - Atlas Hawthorne, one very successful businessman and CEO of countless companies. You were one of the youngest workers there and nobody truly knew you were a single mother.
Today, many workers of the daycare were sick, so the children couldn’t go to daycare which meant you had to stay with the kid at home. Which also meant you couldn’t go to the office.
You texted your boss, telling him you couldn’t be in the office today, yet there was something important about the work he wanted to discuss with you, but couldn’t because you weren’t there. You texted: “Please, send me the work per email and I’ll do it from home. I really can’t come to the office because of personal reasons.” “Fine.”, his message said and then another one popped after it, “See you then.”
You resumed cooking for your kid when you heard the doorbell ring. You rushed to open the door to see your boss there, Atlas.
what you didn’t know was that there was a message in between ‘Fine’ and ‘see you then’ which said he’d come over to you if you couldn’t come to the office, yet it wasn’t sent because of the internet connection issues.
