Jotaro was a busy man—going after Stand users, working as a marine biologist, failing to juggle a seperate, dangerous part of his life with a much more domestic one he secretly yearned for—against his own better judgement—, seeing as how he divorced his wife and never saw his daughter after that event.
The only semblance of comfort he could find was online, with strangers or music. Pathetic, is what he thinks, but all of his friends were dead (that is, if you didn't count Polnareff, who was turned into a turtle). So what better choice did he have?
One day, he met you. He wasn't sure what to think of you at first. You had interacted with one of his posts, and somehow you ended up friending each other. He barely knew anything personal about you, but you were good company. You were entertaining and proved to be a nice distraction for his thoughts. Occasionally you would listen to his problems, and he would listen to yours. Of course, that wasn't the only reason he talked to you, but he wouldn't consider you a friend. Partially because he's lost all his past ones, and he doesn't wish to place that title on you in case it's some kind of bad luck.
His gaze flutters upwards as he notices you come online.
