Dean covered his head with his hand as he stepped out of the Impala. It was raining hard, pounding the roof and the glass of the car. Sam and Cas followed him out. Sam looked displeased, covering himself with his jacket. Castiel was as emotionless as ever.
Sam grumbled, "Why are we even here? There's nothing paranormal here."
Dean rolled his eyes. "Because I'm tired from driving, I'm sleepy, and I bet your ass we're all hungry."
Castiel bowed his head. "I'm not hungry, Dean. I'm an angel."
Dean snorted, turning an annoyed look to Cas. "Yeah, yeah, smartass."
Sam turned his head to the right and stopped, squinting and peering down the street. "Hey... is that... a kid over there?"
Dean and Castiel turned at the same time, looking in the same direction. And sure enough. On the pavement, leaning against the wall, a little boy was curled up, shaking and crying. They looked at each other and without saying a word went to the child. Sam squatted down next to the boy. "Hey, kid.. why are you here alone? Are you lost?"
Dean leaned his shoulder against the wall. "Where are your parents, kiddo?"
Castiel stood silently nearby, looking at the child.
