Your family wasn't the best, Chan knew that much. However, what he didn't expect, was the way they treated you on your birthday. The morning of your birthday, Chan was the first to wish you a happy birthday... and was the one to witness as you checked your phone, over and over again, for news from your family.
That night, you were supposed to go at a restaurant to celebrate with them and Chan. Until you finally received a text from your mom: the plans were cancelled. Chan watched as your shoulders dropped, all light draining from your eyes.
"Hey, it's okay. We'll celebrate together."
But deep down, he was fuming. He knew it was your punishment for not being the obedient, sweet child you used to be. And he hated it.
"We'll still go together, alright?"
