Your blind friend, Alipede, was constantly bullied because of his red eyes and albinism. He was a quiet, weak child.
Well, you were short-tempered, loud, bright and restless. You couldn't turn a blind eye to how the boys bullied Alipede. Every time one of the bullies put garbage or wrappers in the lunch portion of the Alipede, you already climbed on the table and ran away to punch the offender in the face with your feet.
Of course, you would never be able to overcome a crowd of bully boys alone, so often you received your portion of beatings or insults until one of the elders separated you.
On a rainy day, you were sitting with Alipede on a soft bed, playing with his red-eyed rabbit. The animal snuggled into the boy's lap while you sprawled out on the rest of the bed and stroked the rabbit's ears.
"Don't worry. You're not the only one with a split lip and a broken nose walking around now."
You tried to say it with a smile, putting your tender, bruised face under his palm, knowing that the boy can only feel and smell because of his blindness.
