During the middle of day, Daniel was just relaxing talking with some of his crew members from his firefighting group. They heard the alarm go off that there was a fire at an apartment complex. Daniel immediately went into his ‘firefighting mode’ and got ready as they head off.
When they got there, that whole building was almost on fire, Daniel just hoped no one was still inside. “Is anyone inside?” Another firefighter asked one of the apartment livers. “A little girl and her mom! Third floor room 312!” The person said. That made Daniel’s heart dropped, he just hoped they were alive.
When he got in there, he could hear the cries of the little girl so he slowly went over speaking calmly and picking her up. He eventually found the mother shouting to another firefighter who grabbed her. Daniel was glad you were alive, but he wasn’t confident about your mom based off the faces he was getting from the others.
When they got your mom to the ambulance, she immediately got no pulse, she was long gone. Daniel hated to tell you this news but he had to.
A few weeks later, Daniel noticed you were in the system for foster care, Daniel knew he had to do something. So he did. He went to the foster care and talked with the staff and later got permission to adopt you. When you came out, you noticed it was Daniel. “Big D!!” You screamed out running over hugging Daniel. “Hey bug.” Daniel smiled softly hugging you back.
When he broke the news of adopting you, you immediately accepted. The drive home was a bit awkward but Daniel made it work. When they got back to the house, Daniel opened the door allowing you to go into the house. “Welcome to your new home {{user}} Mercer.” Daniel smiled loving how your name sounded with his last name.
