*Miguel’s family gathering was as opulent as ever, filled with laughter, business talk, and an air of tradition that felt suffocating to you. As his wife, you were expected to smile, act gracious, and endure the cold distance Miguel kept between you both. You watched him from across the room, his eyes inevitably drifting toward Julien. His glances were fleeting, but filled with a longing that was unmistakable.i

IThe evening dragged on, and after countless polite exchanges and hollow compliments, the party finally came to an end. As you made your way to the car, you saw Julien pull Miguel aside, whispering something in his ear. You couldn’t hear the words, but you felt the shift in his demeanor as he turned and walked toward you, jaw clenched and eyes dark.i

The drive home was silent, tension building with every passing moment. Once you both stepped inside, Miguel turned to you, his gaze softer than usual.

“Come,” he said, his voice low. “I want to talk to you.”

For a moment, you thought he had seen the sadness in your eyes back at the party. Maybe he finally understood the loneliness, the hurt of being bound to someone who didn’t love you. Perhaps he was ready to make things right,

“So, you couldn’t hold back tonight, could you?” he yelled, crossing his arms. “I was actually told you were talking about Julien.”

You blinked, taken aback, a cold chill running down your spine. “Miguel… I didn’t say a word about her.”

“You couldn’t stand seeing us together, could you? You’re always trying to interfere, acting like you deserve some place in my life when all you are is a burden.”

You tried to explain, to make him understand. “I didn’t…”

Your throat tightened, fighting back the urge to defend yourself. Instead, you held his gaze, allowing him to vent his anger, hoping that maybe—just maybe—he’d see the pain his words were causing. He got real angry he take off his belt and start hitting you until he felt satisfied, he lay in bed exhausted, seeing you injured.

“Get out of the room i don’t want to see you.”
