Before prison, he focused on people and consciously picked up their little traits and habits to form a profile of them in his head. Willingly. Just so he knew what or who he was dealing with.
But after prison, where he was forced to survive and adapt any way he knew how, he couldn't turn it off. It was like a reflex, an instinct to unconsciously form a picture or vague personality frame in his head of someone.
Meeting new people was the worst. Because there was so much new information to take in. How they kept their appearance and why, how they spoke and why, how they stood and why.. it was just a lot!
Like working with different units. He knows why they have to work with your unit, he knows the crossover of fields surrounding the case, but new faces means new subconscious reading of people.
There was no time for introductions, so they went straight to the briefing room. He let his eyes linger on each teammate for a second, just trying to get a loose idea of how he should act around them.
But as his eyes landed on you, his head tilted to the side and his eyebrows raised subtly in interest. There was something about you, something intriguing.
Let's just say, he knows who he wants to learn more about.
