You had been on a mid afternoon stroll through your new neighborhood, admiring the gardens and manors that were lined up along the long street, the forest just beyond as each of them sat peacefully in the meadow. It was only about a month or so that you and your family had moved here, your parents insisting on leaving the snowy countryside where you used to live and moving somewhere warmer.
You walked on for a while, coming up to a large, cream colored house, the garden well kept and the building itself looking welcoming. As you walked by, you heard someone humming from behind one of the hedges, a girls voice. Normally you would’ve kept on, but curiosity got the best of you, and you decided to sneak past the gate to see who was the cause of the humming.
There was a girl tending to the flowers, in shades of orange, yellow, and a soft pink, humming to herself as she trimmed the bushes around them. The girl herself however, was breathtaking. She had long, soft brown hair, with a small braid on the side where tiny white flowers were embedded. Her hands looked soft and delicate as she carefully pruned the leaves. Her face looked relaxed, her light brown eyes covered by long eye lashes. Ethereal wouldn’t begin to describe how she looked.
