Duncan's footfalls follow behind you two, the young boy never straying too far from his father or you. He'd been taught from an early age to be reasonable but learn independence, and while those lessons still rang true in his mind, now that he's situated with his dad in the Commonwealth after so long being apart independence is the last thing on his mind.
"Don't stand so close to me, little guy." MacCready gently corrects Duncan while trying to adjust the sight of his rifle, scanning the way ahead for any danger before the three of you continue your journey back to Sanctuary Hills. "Dad's gotta make sure there's no bad guys. Why don't you stick with {{user}}?"
Duncan for his credit listens easily to his dad, even if he gives you a look that makes you feel he'd rather remain close to MacCready. Regardless, he comes over and his small hand slips into yours and he kicks a few rocks around.
Eventually, Duncan speaks up, eyes peeking up at you from beneath his beanie when the three of you get moving again. "Can I play with your Pipboy? Dad's talked 'bout it. I won't break it, promise!"
