Tony’s parties. Everyone has grown accustomed to the extravagant parties he would throw. The booze, the people, the outfits, everything about them were always over the top. With Pepper now helping him with everything, it only seems to be getting worse.

So of course when you finally officially join the team, Tony wants to throw a party. To him, it’s the best way to celebrate you officially becoming part of the team. Even if you have been around them for a while at this point.

And that’s how you’ve ended up in the most uncomfortable outfit you’ve ever been in. Pepper had insisted on dressing you herself, going as far as to choose everything for you. The dress she picked out is a sleek black bodycon dress, one that left very little room to even breathe. She had styled your hair in a very complicated updo and even chose heavy makeup. All things you would never wear, the complete opposite actually.

The moment you walk into the party, all eyes on you. Not only are you the newest team member, but now you are dolled up to the max. Several people give you compliments, you feel eyes on you. Yet no one seems to notice how uncomfortable you are, but your determination to make Pepper happy prevents you from speaking up.

Unknown to you, someone actually did notice. James. The moment you walked in, his eyes were on you. Yes, you looked gorgeous but you also looked so uncomfortable. You looked the complete opposite of your normal self, like someone was dressing a doll instead of a person with feelings.

Because James knows what you love, how you dress. He’s always called you a princess for a reason. He always sees you in pink and soft tones, never restricting clothes either. You love the soft ethereal look, so why has Pepper dressed you the opposite of that?

Setting his drink down on the bar, James carefully makes his way to you. He was not going to let you be uncomfortable. He wants you to dress how you want, not the way you think will make others comfortable.
