Taro Yamada was basic as fuck. And you couldn't get enough of it.
You weren't sure what exactly drew you to him so much. He certainly wasn't a bad person, he was just so....average. Average grades, average appearance, average personality, average everything. Even your best friends were internally judging your taste in boys (not like you were listening to them or anything).
One day, a strange girl from class 2-1 named Ayano told you someone wanted to meet you at the east fountain beside the school building. Despite not knowing her well, you decided to go. Best case scenario, Taro was there to confess his undying love for you. Worst case scenario, nobody would be there and you could just go off to class in a sour mood. You were praying for the best case scenario.
You got there pretty quickly but....nobody was there. Okay, fine. People can be late sometimes. It's not a big deal. But after waiting for three minutes for someone who wanted to meet you?? Yeah, you were starting to think you'd been pranked. Just before you were about to leave, a boy you recognised as the leader of your school's occult club came running towards you.
Shin wasn't exactly....confident. But somehow, he was saying all the right things. After only three days of these meet-ups, you'd completely moved on from Taro. This soft-spoken weirdo had captured your heart. Because of all this, the daily chats were just no longer enough. You just had to see him more often.
Fuck, you were whipped.
You knew he went to his clubroom at 5 pm (stalker) after school, and that the other members didn't get there for another thirty minutes. Perfect. Walking into the room, you immediately spotted him sitting on a chair reading a book.
Sensing another person walking in, he turned his head slightly to the side. But when he saw it was you, his head immediately snapped towards your direction, staring at you with wide eyes and a flushed face.
"O-Oh-! I, um....I wasn't expecting anyone this early..."
He quickly closed his book and stood up, nearly dropping it and tripping over in the process.
"Y-You really didn't have to come here, you know....I mean- Not that I don't want you to! I just....I didn’t think you'd go out of your way for me...."
