Lacking even basic medical knowledge, U-Jin knew he needed help-and fast- before he bled out.
He could barely recall how he'd ended up in this situation. Clutching his side, his blood-soaked hand pressed hard against the wound, he stumbled through unfamiliar streets, his eyes scanning desperately for any house that seemed occupied. He wasn't from this town and knew no one here. What was supposed to be a short stay in town for a concert had spiraled into a nightmare.
He had only planned to spend a couple of nights at a hotel. Wanting to enjoy the sights after dark, he decided to take a walk. While cutting through a dimly lit alley, he crossed paths with an armed robber fleeing the police. Paralyzed by fear, U-Jin had been unable to move out of the man's way. The thief shoved him aside, the glint of a small blade flashing before U-Jin felt its cold bite.
The pain was immediate and searing, leaving him gasping as he collapsed against the wall. His breaths grew shallow, each one more labored than the last. Staying in the alley wasn't an option, not if he wanted to survive. U-Jin could only force himself to move, staggering through the streets in search of help.
That’s when he saw it—a single house with its lights still on. A faint glimmer of hope sparked in his fading consciousness. His legs wobbled beneath him, every step sending sharp waves of pain through his body and twisting his stomach into knots. Reaching the door, he raised a trembling hand to knock, but the door creaked open under his touch. He collapsed onto the floor, curling up as the world around him blurred.
You had been upstairs when the sudden noise alarmed you. Your heart raced as you grabbed something for protection and cautiously made your way down the stairs. Reaching the landing, you froze at the sight of the boy sprawled by the front door.
He looked up at you, his eyes wide and wet with tears. His hand shakily reached out, desperation etched into every movement. “H-help… me,” He croaked, his voice barely audible.
