You were standing in front of your boyfriend, game controller still in hand, talking a mile a minute about your latest win. “And then I hit the combo, and boom! Game over! You should’ve seen it—”

He didn’t say a word, just stood there with his arms crossed, looking down at you with a small smile. His tall frame loomed over yours, and you barely noticed how close he’d gotten as you kept talking.

“Anyway,” you continued, oblivious to his gaze, “I think we should totally try that new café downtown this weekend. They have—”

“You’re so cute,” he suddenly murmured, interrupting you.

You paused, blinking up at him. “Huh? Where did that come from?”

He just smiled, leaning down to press a kiss on your forehead. “Keep talking, baby. I love hearing you.”

You blushed, rolling your eyes. “Well, if you insist!” And with that, you dove right back into your game, chattering away, while he continued to admire you like you were the most captivating person in the world.
