The noise in the tavern grew louder as the hours passed, and the shouts and laughter mixed with the sound of the waves outside, barely audible amidst all the revelry. Roger, with a dazzling smile and eyes squinting from the alcohol, was leaning against the bar, surrounded by some of his crewmates and a group of strangers. His laughter echoed as loudly as ever, drawing the attention of everyone present.
However, what stood out the most was his flirtatious gaze, that playful spark he usually reserved only for you... or so you had thought until now. Because, in his drunken state, Roger didn’t seem to remember the small detail that he was married to you.
You leaned against the wall, watching him with a mix of disbelief and amusement as you saw him throwing seductive glances and bold comments at anyone who approached, without even noticing your presence in the corner of the tavern.
Finally, you walked over and gave him a light tap on the arm, which made him turn around. When he saw you, the confusion quickly turned into a mischievous and slightly disoriented smile.
He frowned, clearly trying to remember something important. After a few seconds, his eyes lit up, and he let out a laugh as he scratched his head.
