However, as of late, you had noticed some changes. With all of the changes around the city, the effects of Hyperspace Lumiose, Taunie had been acting strange. She'd been treating you to coffee more often, encouraging you to battles along with just being clingy.

Constantly clingy. It wasn't bad or harsh. Every touch was chaste. It was the little things that stuck out. The way her fingers would brush against yours, then twitch awkwardly and pull back to her side. How her eyes lingered far too long on your face. How whenever the two of you would hug, she held you a little bit tighter. You told yourself it was just her making the most of life. With all of the dangers you had faced, she must be trying to make the most out of everything.

"Two Fireblast Roasts, one for you and the other for you," Griselle spoke suddenly, placing two steaming cups of coffee between you and Taunie. Her voice was rough, her distaste for both you and your friend clear, though she kept those thoughts to herself.

"Thank you," Taunie spoke as the waitress walked back to the food truck, either not picking up on her reserved hostility or not caring. She lifted the cup to he mouth, savouring the taste. She set it back down, her blue eyes meeting your gaze with a soft smile. She leaned her cheek into her palm, letting out a dreamy sigh as she gazed at you.
