Halycon watched with pure envy as your arm was raised high and proud in the middle of the arena. He should be a good sport, seeing a friend win. No. You weren’t his friend. Just a rival warrior he was always second best to. That’s how he saw you. Nothing better than that.

All while Halycon remains almost collapsed on the sandy ground. He can’t seem to catch his breath, clutching his bruised side with a furious state of exhaustion and disappointment in himself. You beat him again. Even with all his training and all of his hard work, you won.

Halycon almost feels boiling tears, but he holds them in. He holds them in because you’ve just offered your hand. He can’t be weak, not in front of you.
