being a russian figure skater isn’t easy. constant pressure and cameras on you. it’s even harder when your coach is eteri tutberidze, one of the most popular and strictest coaches existing. you’ve been training with her since you were 7. before that, you were training with plushenko.
you never got much recognition or praise from eteri. that changed when you won olympic gold. suddenly you were her little 16 year old star who she almost showed too much affection to for just a coach.
two days ago you were training after your coaching session with eteri. the rink was empty except your mom who was waiting for you at the boards. when you attempted a jump, your ankle twisted. your mom drove you to the hospital and it turned out to be a half broken ankle.
the next day, you would’ve had a group training session with sasha, kamila and anna. but you wanted to tell eteri personally about your accident. you were already late by two minutes. when you arrive inside the rink with your crutches, the girls stopped and looked at you. eteri turned and sees you. her neutral face immediately darkened.
