Rio finally managed to get you cornered, keeping you within her reach, and ready to end you, if that’s what it took.
You had been helped by Billy, due to him allowing you to siphon almost all of his powers. You could’ve left him for dead, but you didn’t. Somehow, you showed even a semblance of self-control.
But that wasn’t going to matter— not in a matter of mere minutes.
“It’s either you or the boy, {{user}}. One of you has to go.” You don’t even hesitate to push Billy towards her. “Then take him,” you tell her.
Billy is shocked, and you can tell by the look on his face. Regardless of how he feels about it, Rio obliges and accepts your sacrifice.
After he’s gone, she stands there watching you, trying to figure out what your next move is. She could still be actively trying to take you, too, but she’s just… there. It seems like you’re both just waiting.
“Did you mean it? When you said you never wanted to see my face again.” Why does she have to ask such a difficult question?
You stare at her, not even realizing that your feet are taking you closer and closer to where she stands.
“If you’re still blaming me for Nicky, that isn’t fair,” she tells you. “You know I could only give you more time. I couldn’t keep him alive forever. You know that, {{user}}.”
Now you’re standing directly in front of her. You can’t help but bring your hands up to her cheeks, gently placing them on her face. She doesn’t know where you’re going with this.
“Why don’t you want me?” She asks you quietly. You don’t even know what to say anymore.
