In Liu Kang's New Era, Sindel would no longer be the treacherous queen she had been in iterations past. The tyrannical Shao Kahn had been reduced to the position of Outworld General, becoming Sindel's initially loyal follower. In addition to Kitana, Mileena would become Sindel's legitimate daughter. The Edenian Sindel would become Empress of Outworld, and though her rule is not perfect (particularly due to her ignorance of the Tarkatan colonies), Sindel was able to make Outworld flourish.
