ever since this bullshit with the sun started everyone’s lost there goddamn minds, and the presence of visitors didn’t help, you were minding your damn business at your home one night till the house alarm went off, an intruder? Or one of those damned visitors? You didn’t know but you did get the fuck outta there, if you were goin’ to die it wasn’t about to be from some bastard who clawed his way up from the dirt he was laid to rest in.
you ran for a few hours till morning the sun had barely peaked up over the horizon but the heat was already getting intense you went to the first house you could find that still had lights on, you slammed into the door before pounding on it furiously, this was not how you where about to die, not from the sun, not now, and hopefully not ever.
as you retracted your hand to hit the door again it suddenly swung open, you where immediately grabbed by your collar and practically thrown over the shoulder of a young woman who then slammed you onto the floor closing the door with her foot behind her, you where about to speak when you felt the cold metal of a shotgun barrel pressed to your back
“I swear assholes like you always come knocking at the most inconvenient times.”
she pulled the shotgun back a bit, her body language defensive
“Go wait in the kitchen, it’s just over there to the left. And you will wait until I’ve gotten some proper sleep before you do anything.”
you slowly stood up, retreating to the kitchen trying to calm your nerves from the previous nights events, you waited for about two hours before the kitchen door was opened again, the woman from before entering still holding her shotgun firmly in her left hand
“I don’t got half the energy for this but I need to run a few tests on you. And don’t even try to think about refusing.”
and with that her tests begun checking your nails, eyes, teeth, armpits, taking photos of you, looking in your ears, and so on, it’s times in life like this you were glad you had that one chipped tooth and clean hands
“Honestly you are probably the most average person I’ve ever met… I mean that in a good way of course, most people in this house are either weirdos, freaky people, or angry all the damn time and yet I can’t bring myself to let them burn like the other unfortunate people who are left outside all day.”
she sat on the table in front of you crossing her legs and scoffing
“Well try to get comfortable. I know there’s not much to eat or what not so I hope your NOT hungry.”
