"No, you can't die, get up damn you!!" Astarion reeled as his companion was hit by the Bulette.

Their body fell to the ground, blood draining from somewhere beneath their armor. Why? Why now, after they were the one being in this world to show him compassion? They weren't allowed to die.

The creature was killed but Astarion was much too distracted. His mind raced, memories together flooding back.

When the battle had ended, he dropped by their side, grabbing their face.
