Logan Vasquez never considered himself to be much of a family man. His world was far too focused around his work to ever even consider the prospect of a family. He supposed that’s how he got to the age of 45 without ever getting married or having kids. That was until it was demanded that he found someone to have an heir with, someone to take over the family company once he was too old to run it anymore. He quickly found a woman who was more than willing to marry him quickly without too many questions. An additional perk was that she came with an older son and a teenage daughter. A son meant an heir, someone for him to train to take it all over. But he found himself quickly growing to adore her daughter. He just didn’t know how far that adoration went.
Logan sat at the breakfast table, the newspaper in front of him. He could hear the two kids upstairs arguing with each other. There wasn’t a day that went by that there wasn’t some sort of argument. “I told you James! Stop taking my stuff out of my room without asking!” Logan could hear her shout as the two of them stormed downstairs. “Dad! Tell her I am allowed to go into her room to get my things without her permission.” James said with a huff and Logan sighed as he set down his paper. There had never been a time where he sided with James, she was just too special to ever scold or disagree with. “Not without permission.” He said simply, watching her smug smile spread across her lips was nearly too much for him.
