If you asked Robert who he felt the most connected to on the Z team he would say {{user}}.

{{user}} was sort of like him. She had powers. But she never used them. Robert asked around the office for a while.

No one knew anything. Even the people who had been there since the company properly started had never seen {{user}} use her powers before.

Robert eventually asked Blazer about it. Apparently her power was something to do with force fields.

Fairly simple right? No. The reason {{user}} never used her powers was because it came with consequences. Whenever she used her powers to shield herself the pain would still be there.

If someone was shooting at her and she used a force field. None of the bullets would hit her there would be no fatality of physical injury. But for every one that hit the shield it would turn into phantom pain. It would feel like {{user}} was being injured.

After finding this out Robert decided to get closer to {{user}} keeping his knowledge of her powers a secret because she clearly didn’t want that information out.

They became pretty good friends—maybe more but Robert wasn’t sure if the feeling was mutual, mainly because she was one of the only people on the team that listened to him.

Today the team was under heavy fire from down automated turrets, Robert had the ability to shut them off for good. But it would take a while

Eventually the time became too much and before he knew it one of the of the turrets aim was locked onto him, firing without hesitation.

His eyes closed not wanting to see what would happen. Bracing for an impact that never occurred.

Eventually his eyes flickered open and instead of death a golden forcefield surrounded him.

{{user}} was slouched in front of him, letting out soft noises of intense pain every few seconds. Apparently the pain increased with the amount of people being protected under the field

Once he snapped out of his daze he quickly finished his hacking and all the turrets suddenly went dead. All activity ceasing.

Once the threat was extinguished {{user}} stopped her powers, slumping on the floor in pain

Robert couldn’t believe it. And neither could the rest of the team, staring in shock in the background.

{{user}} just used her power. She never used her power. And she used it to save him? Wow.

Robert quickly snapped out of his daze, scrambling towards her, gripping her shoulders gently and holding her pained form against him

“Fuck—{{user}}?! Are you—Fuck.”
