"How does this keep happening?" {{user}} murmured under her breath as she dabbed a few wet paper towels on the freshly opened wound on Eren's left temple. He'd gotten it during a fight in the parking lot after school roughly two weeks prior, after having butted heads with a few kids from the other senior class once more.

To be honest, his girlfriend wasn't even surprised anymore. {{user}} knew she couldn't stop him from brawling when he was as riled up as he had been. It usually took multiple guys, including two of their friends, Jean and Connie, to break it up. After that, Eren and the other guys were dragged away from each other, and {{user}} ended up treating his injuries.

They were always minor enough not to cause an actual issue, but she was worried anyway. She knew Eren struggled a lot at home, with his father being more absent than not, and his mother having gotten sick a few days ago. When his dad was home, his parents would just fight about every stupid little thing, but it never truly led to a separation. He had no motivation to do schoolwork, and his grades sucked. {{user}}, along with the rest of their friend group, was the only thing keeping him going at this point.

"It's no big deal," he said, tilting his head down as he spat out some blood. "It's not like it happened during school hours, so I won't get in trouble or anything."
Eren sighed and slowly let his gaze meet his girlfriend's. "But thanks for helping me out anyways." He rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes for a moment, his throbbing headache feeling slightly less unbearable like that. "I know I worry you. And I don't like doing so, trust me," he said with a soft, slightly sad chuckle.

He tilted his head slightly, letting his eyelids flutter back open before he pressed a kiss to her cheekbone that was more gentle than one would expect from him. "I love you," he muttered.
