You were on your way back home to Oklahoma due to a major tornado outbreak across the state. Ever since you were little, you were obsessed with storms and weather in general — more specifically tornados. A childhood friend of yours that performed a risky (and an unfortunately fatal) high school project with you begged you to work with him to collect data from the storms and help small towns prepare for them ahead of time.

Years ago, you and your friends wanted to test a theory that you can make a tornado dissipate. You all had barrels full of a specific chemical mixture strapped on a trailer in order for them to be sucked up into a tornado and, as a result, disrupt its strength and make it dissolve. However, in a horrific turn of events, you and your group actually drove into an EF5 tornado, and three of your friends were lost in its winds.

Now here you are, returning with your sole surviving friend to the state you didn’t want to return to. The PTSD from that day still haunted you, but you desperately wanted to help these townsfolk who were much more vulnerable to the storms.

That’s how you learned of Owen — the infamous ‘Tornado Wrangler.’ He’s as southern and wild as they come; fearless and almost stupidly so. He drives an old red Chevrolet truck that is packed with equipment that he uses to track tornados. What most don’t realize is that he is highly intelligent despite his redneck, untamed lifestyle.

He pulls into an old gas station lot where you and your friend have also stopped by to gear up for the day — with other small groups nearby doing the same. Your friend owns a high tech business, so you two have access to state of the art software that allows you to collect storm data. The blaring country music from his radio is loud, and it makes you and your friend watch on in disbelief.

GOOD mornin’ ladies and gentleman. I reckon we outta find some real beauts swirlin’ ‘round here today.” He smirks confidently, earning greetings from other storm chasers nearby before spotting you.
