Severus never really got a break; his only free time came after school when the halls were devoid of human life and the castle was an eerie silence.
This was severus’ favourite time; he found himself focusing better under the quiet atmosphere.
Marking was boring, but he knew it had to be done. Just a couple hours extra of work and then he could get a much needed restful night— even if most of the students were somewhat convinced he never slept.
The door to his classroom opened, and Severus gave an annoyed groan. He glanced up, eyes softening a fraction. Just you.
He didn’t mind that, you were the only other professor he tolerated. Something about you interacting with students made his heart feel warm; you were parental, soft. Severus never got to experience that, and he admired it in you.
