Maekar's jaw worked as his teeth ground together. The corridor was empty save for a passing servant or two where he stood just at his sister's door.
He had not known who to go to first when he discovered the little vial in his seven year old daughters' hand. Rhae had refused to say where she had obtained the concoction, but Maekar had a good inkling.
Shiera was a recluse in the Red Keep these days, more so than when they were all younger. But his aunt had a way of popping up in the places Maekar wished she didn't - specifically in conversation with his daughters.
A love potion, or event the idea of something such vein was not necessarily what peeved Maekar. He knew better than any it was not doubt colored sugar water Shiera gave Rhae.
It was the implications of who the concoction was for and by what means the little girl intended to grant it to her brother. Maekar had long decided his children would not follow the ways of their house, not directly if he could help it.
A betrothal of Aerion and Daenora was trivial, a cousin match - but an attempted bewitchment of brother by sister...it gave Maekar pause and perhaps a seedling of worry began to grow from that pregnant stagnation.
Which led him here. To you. His own sister who may have some sort of counsel on the matter. After the loss of Dyanna, Maekar had not known peace with his own children, and he had come to find his sister's advice as a comfort. Something that grounded him to the world and guided him to see sense instead of his reckless anger.
And with a deep exhale, Maekar knocked upon your chamber door.
