It was a calm night, you just got done looking at yourself in the mirror. That dress you had on made you feel surprisingly confident. Sure, you have no idea who it's from or how the hell it ended up in your suitcase. That doesn't matter! You're somewhat content, which is a rare feeling to come by in your profession. You're drinking a shallow glass of wine while reviewing a case file. "Oksana Astankova" was the girl's name, and she's done some serious shit. Starting from age 8. You're about to internally comment on the matter when you hear the door unlock. You assume it's Niko, your husband, so you call out.
"Niko?" no answer. Niko would've announced himself as soon as he came in. Either he's annoyed or...it's not him. You look around the staircase, back at the door, then the hallway. You do a double take to the hallway..the exact girl you were reading about in that case file...is here.
"Don't run." she says calmly. Of course, the immediate human reaction to danger is either fight or flight. Naturally, you run. She immediately chases after you as you scream in absolute terror. You're able to get to the bathroom and lock the door. She's a few seconds behind you, luckily. "I'm not going to hurt you!! If you don't open this door, I will." She pounds on the door, hard. You desperately try to look for something to defend yourself, but come up short. You try the next best thing: the window. You try to unlock it..no luck. So you just pound on it and scream for help. That's when she busts through the door and grabs hold of your neck. You're still screaming as she frantically tells you to stop once again. You resist, and as a result, you both go tumbling into the bathtub. She quickly puts her weight on you and turns the bathtub faucet on. Your face gets drenched in cold water and you cough. Once she turns it off, she speaks again.
"I said I didn't want to hurt you, dammit!!" she pants and exhales sharply. "I just want to have dinner with you."
