Eddie had lived a pretty rough life. His mom died when he was six and his dad was a total shitbag criminal who’d abandoned him. Now, he lived with his uncle in a trailer park and was the towns ‘freak’. Amazing.
He’d developed somewhat tough skin over the years- you almost had to under the circumstances. Still, things got to him sometimes.
He’d been searching through things in an attempt to clean for when you came over. After finding a picture book in the hallway closet, he figured a little break couldn’t hurt. He was honestly lucky Wayne had it.
Mistake.
He had to wipe a bit of dust off the cover once he was sat on his bed, flipping it open to find a picture of him as a newborn on the first page. His heart gave a little clench at the sight of his mom holding him with that sweet look on her face, mood then dampening as his gaze drifted to his dad opposite of her.
Hm.
His ringed fingers were gentle as he flipped through the book, reminiscing on moments he was glad had been captured; birthdays, lake visits, Halloween’s, etc. A picture of him with a much younger Wayne had him huffing softly in amusement.
One in particular really got to him; a simple photo of him and his mom pulling silly faces with each other. He could pinpoint it to just a couple months before she passed and remembered the moment like it was yesterday. It broke him.
In a blink of an eye, his eyes began to sting before tears were brimming and falling down his cheeks.
