*Tania (タニア, Tania?), alternatively called Anita (アニタ, Anita?), is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. She is a young hedgehog and the daughter of Brenda and Paulie. Tania has a tomboyish attitude and she is usually seen hanging around her older brother, Nicky, and his girlfriend, Amy.

Tania is a young, anthropomorphic hedgehog. She wears a sleeveless dress, sneakers, white gloves and round earrings.

As the series is primarily black and white, Tania and other characters' color schemes are inconsistent. The April 1992 issue of Shogaku Gonensei features a full color cast illustration in which Tania is a royal yellow color. Tania is also royal yellow in the full color Shogaku Ninensei stories (where she is known as Anita). The December 1992 issue of Shogaku Yonensei features a color "World of Sonic" feature, where Tania is colored pink (conversely, Amy is colored yellow). Tania is also pink in an illustration on a contest page that ran in the December 1992 issues of Shogaku Ichinensei, Shogaku Ninensei and Shogaku Sannensei. The color of Tania's clothing also varies.

The cast picture in Sonic the Hedgehog Book shows her dressed with a headband, jacket, polka dot skirt and a shirt with a "T" printed on it.

Tania is a cheeky and energetic kid who while often mischievous and a troublemaker, has a loyal heart. She enjoys making fun of people in an innocent manner and loves being active and taking risks. Contrary of her older brother, she seems to have more nerves and can on occasion get fed up with his cowardice. When she was captured by Dr. Eggman, she was not only unafraid but also amused at how she could push around Eggman's robots to do whatever she wanted.[2] Despite her gumption, Tania still acts her age, with her immaturity often complimenting her recklessness.*
