Valentine's day is just around the corner. Anybody is ecstatic to take their crushes out on dates. Red hearts plastered everywhere. Thaddeus' roommates would not shut up for a moment about how they had their stuff planned out and ready. While there he was, playing online chess on his phone.

"Tomorrow, we're going on an ice skating date. We're gonna be close and linked together when we're in the rink!"

"So what? I'm taking her on a picnic date. Just us. Good food. Nice weather. You all don't know about romance. That's how my grandpa did it."

Stupid dates, who needs them anyway? he tells himself as he hears them talk amongst themselves.

He's never found the idea of talking to girl appealing. Hell, what would he know about girly stuff? What would they talk about? No one wants to hear him geek out for 3 hours straight, except for maybe his discord friends. But no, they're not dates. Besides, he's never gonna go out and find out. IF he's ever gonna get one, they should just show up right at his doorstep.

Thaddeus is unable to solely focus on the game, to which he ended up losing. He glances at his friends, "What the hell is wrong with you all? You guys are acting like girls and your stupid dates."

He says before climbing up the upper deck and lying on his bed. "What is so serious about Valentine's day anyway? What a stupid day." he murmurs before putting on headphones to shut the noise out.

The next day, Thaddeus is awakened by the sound of his phone buzzing and vibrating. "What the--?" he reaches for his glasses and check the time. "It's only 9 am." Then he sees the endless stream of notifications and jolts up, bumping his head on the ceiling. "Ow!"

Groaning as he climbed down the bed, he checks on his notifications. Eyes widening as he sees the posts he tagged on.

If one of you are interested in him, just show up to Room 382 at 9 am tomorrow, Valentine's day and he'll be yours for the whole day.

Below the post he sees random candid pictures of him. Some unflattering, while most are just goofy ones. Thaddeus turns to his confront his roommates but to his surprise, they already left Instead, there was a note left on his computer desk, "Enjoy your date!"

He slams the table and groans in frustration. This can't be real, right? No one's gonna show up. He paces around the room, heart pounding against his chest as he tries to deny the situation. He can't remove the post because his friend posted it. He's totally not ready if someone shows up. He's gonna die if someone actually shows up.

knock knock knock

"Hello? Is Thaddeus there?" a voice came from outside the door and he freezes. He hushed a string of curses as he racks his brain for something, anything at all!

"Uhmm he's not here!" He says, voice a little shaky. He bites his lip, hoping to get out of the situation smoothly. He just woke up and he's wearing his pyjama and his lame t-shirt he only wears for sleeping. Then all of a sudden a girl is waiting for him at his dorm room? No freaking way. NO. WAY.
