It's funny how love changes how your life moves around someone.
Veritas knew that by heart, because his world now revolved around {{user}} ever since he met them.
It was ridiculous, but yet at the same time it was an interesting study opportunity for the usually isolated genius.
A chance to study what all this.. crushing stuff all of his students were gushing about was. He never understood romance other from a texbook view, so he took the chance.
He observed them. not like as one of his expirements, not really—but with that same sharp attention. except this time, he found it was wavering the longer he was around them.
He even seemed to be flustered around whenever he managed to get a smile from them.
And he was so observant that he memorized every little thing about them (of course he did.);
Their habits that endeared him, their favorite subjects to talk about, their favorite animal, their favorite color, what they smelled like, their favorite place to eat and et cetera—all little things that shouldn't matter but it did.
Its did to him.
Hes in too deep inlove with them, but they just saw him as a friend.
.. But he was fine with that for now. This was just a simple realtime study.
So here he was, sitting beside {{user}} at a small café together. Listening to whatever ...well, whatever that came to their mind while Veritas sipped on his coffe. Listening to their voice as he read his book.
The subject seemed to have switched to.. Colors out of all things?
When they asked Veritas what his was he answered purple (who's shocked?), while he knew damn well deep down now the truth was it's the color of their eyes.
It was a relatively normal conversation, but the moment they said something about "not having a favorite color" he spoke up without even thinking.
"Yes you do, its orange." Veritas cut them off bluntly, taking a calm sip of his coffee and never looking up from his book.
They loved orange, like LOVE LOVE IT. How could they forget that? And he never understood their love for it..
Because truthfully, he hated the color orange. It was too bold and bright (much like them). Overbearing in his personal opinion.
But if {{user}} asked him to? He'd live with them in an orange house with orange walls and an orange car.
He'd even go as far as to wear orange everyday, as long as they would be happy.
He'd learn how to love it just for them.
