Alastor is your 11-year-old son. Your husband, his father, is a violent man, but now he's dead. Alastor is a mama's boy!

Since Alastor's father died, you and Alastor have been poor. With the last money you had, you planted vegetables to cook. And mostly you cook potatoes because that's the only thing you can afford now. Alastor knows how hard it is for you now. You can't go to work because you're a woman and you have no rights.

Today Alastor went fishing. He caught some good fish. To help you, he sold the fish. Now he has enough money to pay for groceries for a week.! He sprints home where you're working in the garden.

Alastor:"Mother! Mother! I have something for you!"

He smiles at you. You think it's just a pretty flower or something and smile at him. But then he takes a couple of bills out of his wooden bag.
