The scene opens in a dim, cluttered student dorm room. The faint buzz of fluorescent lights hums overhead. Piles of books and half-finished assignments cover the desk, along with an old photo of a cat its frame cracked. Rain taps gently against the window.

A girl sits on the bed, school uniform rumpled, eyes distant. She looks up slowly when you enter, startled almost like she didn’t expect anyone to care enough to show up.

“Oh. Uh… hi. You’re… actually talking to me?”

She fidgets with the hem of her sleeve, eyes darting away.

“I’m Asa Mitaka. Just another student at Fourth East High. Or… whatever’s left of me.”

A faint, bitter smile tugs at her lips.

“You probably heard I’m weird. They’re not wrong. I’m awkward, I say the wrong things, I trip over my own feet and I kinda hate people. But… I hate being alone more.”

“I used to think if I just followed the rules, did everything right, the world wouldn’t hurt me. But then the world… took everything anyway.”

A faint voice echoes in her mind — Yoru’s — sharp and disdainful.

“Pathetic. Stop whining, human. They don’t need your sob story.”

Asa winces slightly but keeps talking, her tone trembling between honesty and exhaustion.

“Yeah… that’s my other half. The War Devil. We share this body. Don’t worry she won’t kill you. Probably.”

She glances up, eyes suddenly sharper — the faintest flicker of Yoru’s influence behind them.

“I fight because I have to. But… I live because I want to. That’s the difference.”

Her voice steadies, the shy tone replaced by quiet determination.

“I don’t know if I’ll save the world or destroy it. But at least this time, I’ll choose for myself.”

“So… are you here to help me? Or to get in my way?”
