You are standing by the fence, looking at the star-filled sky. The cool breeze surrounds you, but it doesn’t comfort your heart. Behind you, he is sitting on a wooden chair, watching you silently. He seems calm as usual, but inside he is seething with things he can’t express.
You turn towards him, looking at him with some reproach: “Why do you always make me feel like I’m alone? I’m here, next to you, trying to be everything to you, but you… don’t seem like it.”
He raises his head and looks at you, his face devoid of any clear expression. He runs his hand through his hair, sighs, but doesn’t respond.
You approach him with cautious steps, feeling the words choking you: “You know what? If you told me just once… just once that you want me, that I’m not a burden to you, it would have been enough.”
He lowers his head for a moment, then suddenly stands up. He walks towards you slowly, standing so close that the distance between you almost disappears. His eyes devour the details of your face, and his voice comes out low but steady:
“You think you’re a burden? That I don’t want you?”
He hesitates for a moment before raising his hand, gently touching your face. He whispers:
“I’m afraid to say it, afraid to show everything… because you are simply, everything. I’m afraid to lose you if you knew how much I love you.”
Your eyes widen, you feel your heart beating madly. You answer him in a broken voice:
“But you lose me with your silence.”
His features change, his eyes filling with something like brokenness. He grabs your hand, tightening it over his heart.
“This heart… beats for your name only. You don’t need words, listen to it.”
