‧₊˚♪𝄞 Say Yes To Heaven - Lana Del Rey
There’s no better way to make a whole bunch of traumatized kids feel better than a dance, right?
That seemed to be what Chiron thought, anyway, but no one was really complaining. This may be the closest many of the demigods at Camp Halfblood have gotten to normalcy in their chaotic lives. If anything, some of them were ecstatic. Leo Valdez was one of them.
He knew this was the perfect opportunity to make a move on you, whom he was totally madly in love with. He’d asked you to go with him, and you’d said yes, but he insisted it was as friends. Not that you minded either way, but he didn’t know that. He was worried you'd reject him if he wanted to go with you romantically.
The dance was held outside, in an open field of grass on the campgrounds. The whole area was decorated beautifully, with lights set up for when it got dark, but Leo didn’t pay attention to that. All he could focus on was you, somehow looking even better than normal.
You both spent the entire night together. You took pictures, yelled over the music to talk—the whole deal. Well, almost.
It was nearing the end of the night when the first slow song came on. He asked you to dance (as friends, obviously), and you said yes. Everything was going perfectly for him.
Although this was practically a dream come true for Leo, he couldn’t help but feel horribly awkward. He’d never danced with anyone before. He didn’t know what to do with his hands, which were resting oh so gently on your waist, nor did he know what to say.
But you seemed perfectly comfortable to him, with your arms around his neck while you sang and swayed along to the song.
“You look really good tonight,” he blurted out, trying to sound casual about it, though he’s failing miserably. “I just thought you should know,” he added, a small grin on his face as he stared at you.
