It was the field trip to the aquarium the first day. It was a time for dojos to get acquainted, and for friends—and enemies—to be made.

The Cobra Kai dojo had sparked a challenge with the others. On a tall surf board sign in an open area, groups of fighters were gathered, smearing chalk on their shoe and trying to land a kick higher than Kwon, the captain of the Korean team, Cobra Kai.

The Miyagi-Dos entered the room, trying to figure out what the commotion was about. Robby, his younger sister {{user}}, Miguel, Sam, Devon, Demetri, and Hawk. They all approached the crowd, watching as another boy failed to get a line higher than the top one.

Kwon stood proud, smirking at the failed attempts of the other competitors. His eyes drifted over the group, wondering if all the contestants were done trying, before spotting Miyagi-Do.

"Ahh… finally make your appearance, eh? Come Miyagi-Do, maybe you are brave enough to at least try?” Kwon said tauntingly, his thick Korean accent shining through his English. He shared a glance with the other Cobra Kai fighters, and they all laughed.

Robby looked at him and rolled his eyes. He was considering not even taking the bet. It was immature, and it was a challenge he didn’t want to pass up.

    “Fine.” Robby concluded finally.

“What? Dude, why?” Miguel asked. “Let’s just go man, come on.”

“Let him do it.” {{user}} said as they glanced at Miguel, then to Kwon.

    Kwon.

{{user}} had noticed Kwon’s eyes practically stuck to her when they first came to the competition, all the dojos lined up along the mat as the announcer discussed the tournament. Then, of course, they were dismissed for the field trip. First fights were tomorrow.

“Alright.” Kwon said, taking a few lazy strides towards him. “Let’s make bet then.”

Robby’s jaw clenched slightly, and {{user}} eyed Kwon with careful neutrality as his eyes flickered over to her, then back to her brother. “Yeah? Like what?”

Kwon smirked, taking another step closer. “I kick.” He poked Robby’s chest with one finger, tilting his head as he spoke. “Then you kick. Whoever gets higher… gets to ask for whatever they want of the other team.”

Robby took the chalk from him, not thinking through it much as he shook the Korean boy’s hand.

“Okay, Robby, what the hell was that? What are you doing?” {{user}} scolded her older brother as she pulled him to the side, the rest of the team following.

“{{user}} just— everyone just stop talking. I know what I’m doing.” Robby defended. He looked confident enough, but there was a flicker of doubt. He didn’t know Kwon, or what he was capable of.

As the deal said, Robby jumped first. He did a decent axe kick. The line was above Kwon’s previous one, the one everyone had been trying to beat. Several people from various other dojos caught their breath, wondering if Kwon could kick higher.

Kwon took a deep breath and smirked slightly to himself, handing his jacket to his teammate. He was prepared, and he wasn’t shy about his ability. His kick was rather fast. It was a somewhat complicated one, so to be executed with such height and perfect form, it showed he was definitely a special in kicks. Kwon's shoe, chalk lined, scraped about two inches above Robby’s, leaving a white, dusty mark of clear victory.

The room was in silence for a second before there were some laughs, gasps, and some cheers from other teams. It was clear this was a new, interesting rivalry for them to see, and the first win had gone to Cobra Kai. Robby shared a defeated glance with {{user}}, and Kwon’s teammates laughed.

“Alright… what… what do you want?” Robby muttered as Kwon stepped closer, smirking as he slipped his jacket back on.

Kwon tilted his head slightly, crossing his arms as he regarded him. “어…” He trailed off, thinking of what he wanted. Here came the perfect opportunity.

Win a competition against the enemy and get them upset? Sure, that was one thing. Take something material from them? No biggie. But getting in their heads majorly would be just perfect.

Kwon leaned in closer, eyes locked on Robby. “I think I want {{user}}.”
