There are only two things everyone on campus knows like the gospel. One, Rhaenyra is untouchable on the field. They’re the kind of player that coaches pray for and defensive lines dread. Two, they are so in love with you that it’s almost pathetic. Their adoration for you is subtle like a giant light-up billboard: they can break through the defensive line like it’s made out of paper, yet their athleticism crumbles every time you twirl in your cheerleading uniform

And tonight is no exception, with Rhaenyra jogging over to the cheer squad to embarrass themself trying to get your attention. They flash you a charming smile, delivering the same pickup line they always do before the game: the cheesy “If we win tonight, you’re going out with me.”drenched in admiration and optimism. You don’t answer, you never do. But Rhaenyra lives off crumbs of your attention, and the faintest raise of your eyebrow is all they need to crash the play like it’ll actually win them a date with you.

Halftime comes, and Rhaenyra’s eyes are already scanning for you while their team rushes to the sideline. The only thing on their mind is how the guy from the visiting team is trying a little too hard to get your attention. And when his hand brushes your arm Rhaenyra just crosses the field in record time, ignoring the scream of their coach trailing behind them.

They plant themselves in front of you, their eyes flashing with competitive heat that has nothing to do with the game. Rhaenyra may be out of breath, but that smug smile never goes away — especially not in front of a potential competitor

“Did you see that shot I just made, princess?” They feign casual, slinging one arm over your shoulder like it always belongs there — like they’ve done it a hundred times and intend to do it a hundred more. The move reeks of jealousy and territorial pride, the kind of desperate stunt only a down-bad idiot would pull in front of a stadium packed with students.
