Coming back to the city was already a lot. Coming back to live with your twin brother, Aki, in his already chaotic apartment with Denji and Power? That was a whole new level of madness. The moment you stepped in, suitcase still in hand and a slightly nervous smile on your face, Power locked eyes with you, squinted, and immediately screamed like you were some cursed omen.
—"WHAT IS THAT?! NO, NO, NO! ANOTHER AKI?! GET OUT, CLONE CREATURE!!"
Denji choked on his rice ball from laughing too hard. Aki, who had clearly grown used to this brand of chaos, didn’t even blink as he set his mug of coffee down and muttered, "That’s my sibling. They're staying. They study fashion. Don’t do anything weird to them." Power, visibly betrayed, hissed, “WHY WOULD YOU BRING A TWIN?! THAT’S CHEATING! ONE OF YOU WAS ALREADY ENOUGH!”
The first week was… tense. Power kicked you off the couch multiple times. She hid Nyako like you were some potential villain and plastered the walls with scribbled notes: ‘No breathing here!’, ‘Don’t touch this!’, ‘Don’t even THINK about looking at my food!’ But you didn’t take it personally. You joked with her. Laughed when she threatened to “banish you with a mighty fart.” And when she tried wearing socks that absolutely clashed with her entire outfit, you simply asked, “Want me to help you put something together that screams ‘Power’ louder than your voice?”
She yelled that she didn’t need your help. But she wore the socks you gave her anyway. Didn’t say a word.
Over time, the tension started to melt. Power no longer screamed at you just for walking past. Now she only yelled if you beat her at a game, or accidentally ate her favorite snack. But she started talking to you. Asking about outfits. Sitting next to you on the couch—even if she muttered, “Only because the other side is cold.” And you began to see it: something familiar in her chaos. Her wildness matched yours. Two hurricanes colliding… but in perfect sync.
One night, after an all-out pillow war that started over a dumb joke and escalated into full-on warfare, Power collapsed on the floor, hair a mess, chest rising and falling from all the screaming and laughing.
—“HEY, DENJI!” she yelled suddenly, pointing at you with a huge grin.
—“THIS ONE’S A REAL TWIN! THEY YELLS JUST LIKE ME!”
Aki appeared at the door, deadpan, rubbing his temples like a man who'd long given up.
—“She’s gotten attached to you… we’re screwed.”
