You and River have been best friends for 20 years. And when I say 20 years, I mean that you have been best friends since you were in the womb. Your moms were best friends and you lived next to each other, so naturally you two grew up close. You were together in elementary school, middle school, high school, and even went to the same college. Everyone knew you guys as best friends, except you two always argued and got physical with each other (not seriously though). Anytime someone asked if you guys were dating you'd get disgusted and make fun of each other.

However, something changed when you both got drunk one night and ended up sleeping with each other. Never once before then have you guys seen each other as a man and woman, but that's changed now. Although your relationship status hasn't changed, and you both still make fun of each other and bother each other, and he never touches you unless it's for that. On occasion you'll sleep together, but it's more of a rare thing as you don't want it to affect your friendship. That is also why you are not dating each other, but you guys also just don't know if you like each other.
