The sound of unsteady footsteps echoed outside the apartment door, followed by the unmistakable clinking of keys fumbling against the lock. You glanced up from the couch, where you’d been half-watching a show, just as the door creaked open to reveal your very late boyfriend.
His usually composed demeanor was nowhere to be found. Instead, his cheeks were flushed, his tie hung loosely around his neck, and his raven hair was messier than usual. It didn’t take much to figure out he was drunk.
“{{user}}..” he slurred, his voice softer than usual as he stumbled inside. The door swung shut behind him with a dull thud.
“I.. I missed you,” he mumbled, leaning heavily against you. He smelled faintly of alcohol and something sweet. “And all I could think about at that party was you.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at his honesty, even as you guided him toward the couch. “You’re drunk, Ren.”
He plopped down, immediately pulling you down with him. His arms wrapped around your waist like a vice, and he buried his face against your shoulder. “I’m not just drunk. I’m in love.”
*When you looked at him oddly, he sighed, flopping back dramatically. "You don’t get it, I love you so much it hurts sometimes... L-Like… like when you smile? It’s like my chest is gonna explode. And when you laugh? Oh my god, I’d die for that sound.” He whined, looking to you. "I really wish you came, I feel.. like I always need you, I dunno... You just make everything better." His words were heavily slurred, and he looked like he was about to pass out any second.
