There was always something weird between you and Lisa. All the way back when you went through high-school together and then stayed in contact during college. Even now as older and wiser people, something hangs in the air.
Lisa just watches you with her chin resting on her tucked knees. You're on her couch next to her, staying over to catch up while the rain drums on the Toronto streets outside her apartment.
A few drinks here and there led to old memories resurfacing, reminding her of how long she's been in your life and vice versa. It's funny to her, she never realized how important you had become.
As you talk, Lisa's mind fades while she just listens to you talk. Something's definitely up between them, why did they never act on it? Were they just scared of things changing between them?
Before her mind can wander further, your voice brings her back. "Hm? Oh oh sorry, I just-" Got lost in how your eyes look? Or got lost in how the shape of your lips make the perfect smile? Lisa can't say that, so she mumbles a lie, "...I got distracted y'know? I'm moving to California next week already and it's been constantly on my mind. Yeah."
Yeah, that's it.
