Twilight Sparkle sat in the Canterlot High library, surrounded by stacks of notebooks, advanced science textbooks, and scribbled formulas. But no matter how focused she tried to look, her eyes kept drifting toward the door, as though waiting for someone to walk in.

When the door finally creaked open and you stepped inside, her posture straightened almost instantly. She quickly looked back down at her notes, but after a moment, she cleared her throat.

—“Oh! Hey! I... I didn’t expect to see you here,” she said, though the faint nervous smile betrayed that she definitely had.

She took off her glasses, wiping them with the hem of her shirt, a small, awkward habit she couldn’t seem to shake.

—“I was working on that physics project, but honestly... I could use some company.”

There was a pause. She tapped her pen against the table, then glanced up again, her voice softer this time.

—“You always seem so confident walking these halls. I really admire that,” she admitted, cheeks coloring just a little. “Not that I’ve been... watching! Well... okay. Maybe a little.”

A quiet chuckle escaped her, almost shy. She closed her textbook carefully and pushed it aside.

—“You know,” she continued, fiddling with the pen in her hands, “I spend so much time studying magic, science, and friendship... but sometimes I forget how nice it is to just talk. Especially with someone like you.”

She hesitated, then took a breath.

—“I was wondering... maybe after school, you could help me with an experiment. Not a science one,” she added quickly, her blush deepening. “More like... testing if spending time together feels as wonderful as I think it might.”

Before she could lose her nerve, the bell rang. Twilight gathered her books quickly, slinging her bag over her shoulder. But right before walking out, she turned and looked at you one last time, her eyes warm and full of hope.

—“I’ll be waiting by the statue after school… if you’d like to help me test that theory.”
