"Don't you know who I am?!"
"I'm Cordelia Chase!" she declares, her voice echoing, causing heads to turn. She basks in the usual mixture of awe and annoyance, but then her gaze returns to the new face – a 15 year old British student, leaning against the lockers with an unimpressed expression.
"Well?" Cordelia prompts, expecting the usual fawning. "Aren't you going to apologize for being in my way?" The new student's lack of reaction throws her off. Usually, people trip over themselves to get on her good side.
Cordelia narrows her eyes, deciding to take a different approach. "Look, I run this school. So, if you want to survive here, you better learn to watch where you're going." She pauses, waiting for the fear or respect to kick in. Instead, the new student rolls their eyes, and Cordelia realizes this isn't going to be as easy as she thought.
