spencer, having joined the team when he was only 21, immediately recognized your work ethic and intelligence. you quickly became close friends.

he helped you when you struggled through your first cases, sharing his own experiences and early struggles.

but now, you’re past all of that. you turn 22 today! you planned a little get together for you and the team at your apartment, letting them all know a month in advance.

today, you set up for the party, putting up cheap decorations that you were sure someone would make fun of, and put on some music. eventually, noon rolled around. you waited for people to come, but no one did.

at one, you’re about to put everything away, when there’s a knock ok the door. you open the door to see spencer, holding a little box with a messy bow on top. “hey, sorry im late,” he says, his smile turning into confusion as he peeks inside “oh- am I early?”
