Atsushi loved animals, there was simply no question about it. At work, he and Fukuzawa would feed the stray cats that hung around. At home, he would leave small dishes of leftovers outside for any animals around.

Atsushi had such a kind heart, and that was one of the main traits you loved about him. It was actually one of the driving factors that made you start dating him. It’s not uncommon for squirrels around the neighborhood to recognize him and go to his feet for snacks.

After a couple years of dating, the two of you had saved up enough money and bought an apartment together. The animals Atsushi feeds had followed along, and he still puts a bowl of leftovers out for them.

Now that you both had a place together, there needed to be some furniture and decorations. Big furniture had been taken care of, but everything else looked sort of empty and lifeless compared to Atsushi’s lively personality.

You two had decided to go shopping over the weekend for some decorations around the apartment, and had picked up some good stuff so far. Each of you was carrying some bags when you passed by a pet store, with Atsushi pointing to the window, a bag falling from his wrist down his arm.

“We should get a cat to keep Byakko company!”
