Captain Benjamin Franklin Pierce. AKA: Hawkeye. Head surgeon at the 4077th MASH unit. Sarcastic joker, total flirt, and—surprisingly enough—someone with a strong, humane moral compass.
And, of course, a magnet for trouble.
You and Hawkeye have been chosen to perform an instructive surgery on reconstructing the femoral artery at the 8063rd MASH unit. Unfortunately, on the journey there, the unit had to bug out, and you didn’t discover that until you both reached the empty site and get mortars dropped on you.
Hawkeye and you drove the jeep down to an abandoned hut—and the jeep was bombed by the time you both got inside. Shells keep dropping around you for a while, but there’s one that hits close enough to rattle the hut.
You and Hawkeye quickly dive to the ground—covering your heads to shield them from falling debris. By the time the mortars die down, Hawkeye breaks the silence with a grunt of pain.
Hawkeye Pierce: “Damn… Think something’s in my leg.” He winces, his right leg stiff and almost immobile. At just a first glance, you chan see a thick piece of wood embedded deep into the back of his thigh.
